At SENSES Learning Hub, with experience of being a parent, SENCo, classroom teacher and pastoral leader, we understand that every child is unique.
It can be frustrating when things don’t go to plan and an Alternative Provision can sound daunting, however you might find that it is the best environment for your child to thrive and feel more settled.
SENSES Learning Hub suits young people who require a more trauma informed, therapeutic and empathic approach where they can explore creativity in a smaller friendly and relaxed studio environment.
We offer a variety of art based, creative experiences, along with Maths and English. Our SEN framework also provides support for students who need extra support. On sight of a valid EHCP plan, we can work with the local authority, school and SENCo to create a bespoke package based on your child's individual needs.
Students will be asked to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.
Students are not allowed out over breaks, apart from when supervised by staff members when we have planned wellbeing walks and drawing, photography and gallery visits at the Sculpture Park or time in our studio surroundings.
We want parents/carers of students with SEMH needs to feel connected with other parents/carers. This is why we provide a monthly parent/carer only network meeting where you can come together in our comfortable studio to have a cuppa and talk in our supportive space.

SENDIAS stands for Special Education Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support. Every local authority is required to fund a SENDIAS service for their area. But SENDIAS works separately to the local authority and does not work on the local authority’s behalf. This means they can provide free and independent advice about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You can search for your local SENDIAS online or call your local council to ask for their contact details.
